ABOUT BAKER STREET BOYS

BAKER STREET BOYS IS A CONTEMPORARY DESIGN BRAND FOUNDED IN LONDON, IN 2014, BY TOMASZ DANIELEC AND ARKADIUSZ GLANOWSKI.

THE ETHOS OF THE BRAND IS TO REDEFINE THE UNDERSTANDING OF LUXURY DESIGN BY UNVEILING THE HIDDEN BEAUTY WITHIN THE NATURAL, OFTEN-UNAPPRECIATED MATERIALS.

TOMASZ, AN AWARD-WINNING, POLISH ARCHITECT, IS THE CREATIVE FORCE BEHIND THE BRAND. OVER THE COURSE OF HIS 20-YEAR CAREER TOMASZ WORKED ALONGSIDE RENOWNED INDUSTRY FIGURES SUCH AS RAFAEL VIÑOLY, ROBIN PARTINGTON OR TOMASZ KONIOR. ALL OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS REFLECTED AND EMBODIED WITHIN THE GEOMETRY, CONTRASTS AND LINES OF ALL HIS DESIGNS AND PROJECTS.

SCULPTURAL AND FUNCTIONAL FORMS, MINIMALIST ELEGANCE AND THE ARTISTRY OF CRAFT. THE APPLIANCE OF THIS PHILOSOPHY IS WHAT MAKES THE BRAND’S DESIGN INDISPENSABLE AND TIMELESS.

BAKER STREET BOYS’ COLLECTIONS GAINED INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION. THE BRAND WAS CURATED TO EXHIBIT AT THE DESIGN MUSEUM OF LONDON OR DURING THE CLERKENWELL DESIGN WEEK. SINCE ITS OFFICIAL LAUNCH, IN 2016, IT HAS BEEN REPEATEDLY PUBLISHED BY THE INFLUENTIAL PRESS SUCH AS THE WORLD OF INTERIORS, ELLE DECORATION, THE TIMES AND THE EVENING STANDARD. THE BRAND HAS ALSO PARTNERED WITH RETAILERS INCLUDING LIBERTY OF LONDON, HARVEY NICHOLS AND IS REPRESENTED BY THE RENOWNED ART GALLERIES. BAKER STREET BOYS CONTINUOUSLY SATISFY THE EXCEEDINGLY HIGH STANDARDS OF THEIR NOTABLE CLIENTS INCLUDING CELEBRITIES AND ROYALS.

Tomasz Danielec – co-founder and designer at Baker Street Boys.

The uniqueness of his works is determined by the simplicity and functionality of forms enriched with sculptural values. In his projects, Tomasz focuses on playing with geometry, contrasts, lines and natural, unappreciated materials.

Thanks to the cooperation with the forces of nature, his designs become one of a kind functional art pieces.

Tomasz’s furniture decorates the interiors of, among others, the Dubai’s Royal Family member, the Olympic medalist Tom Daley or Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black. Tomasz’s work was curated by Ray Kelvin, the Ted Baker brand founder, for his development project Mount Terrace in Bournemouth.

Tomasz is also the first furniture designer in the history of Poland (the second Pole after Anja Rubik), whose design was included in the offer of Liberty of London.

In 2018, at the special request of the Design Museum of London, Tomasz created an object of functional art called THE PYRAMID, which became an introduction to his book on environmentally friendly solutions in architecture through the use of appropriate construction methods (the book is still being written).

Before starting his career as a designer, Tomasz fulfilled himself as an architect. During his 20-year career, he had the opportunity to work with the renowned architect Tomasz Konior, Rafael Viñoly or Robin Partington, having a significant share in building projects such as the award-winning Middle School in Białołęka (Warsaw), the Masterplan for the University of Oxford or The Park House located on Oxford Street (project for the royal Qatar family). Over the course of an architect’s career, he was awarded, among others, the Prime Minister of Poland award for the best public building of 2005 and the Leonardo award granted by the International Union of Architects (UIA) for the best public building in Eastern Europe in 2007 for an architectunder 30
