We couldn’t imagine this list without one of Latin America design’s most visionary voices, Jorge Brown Cott. We first came across his projects at the world renowned art gallery, Galerie Philia, which we are also represented by. Jorge, along with Alban Roger, create a curation team which both select new objects for their gallery and prepare its latest art exhibitions in the most prestigeous locations in New York, France, Mexico and many others.
At the same time Jorge composes most extraordinary and memorable interior projects. His style is ‘hardly classifiable: his inspirations can come both from 50s Italian cinema and Saint Laurent’s Morocco or even Central Asia’s venerable textile traditions. But above all, they come from the at times ancestral, at times contemporary artisanal production in his native Dominican Republic and most of Latin America.’ Each of his interiors shock with it’s unconventional mix of diverse design influences, textures and colours. If we were to sum up the appearance of Jorge’s projects there is just one word to describe it: visionary.
